Job Description

Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Database Systems Specialist Intern to join our Component Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of our component database, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Component Database Maintenance: Verify new component data entry, ensure data accuracy and completeness, and maintain the database to support our hardware design engineering team.
  • Technical Research: Conduct research on new components, evaluate their technical feasibility, and provide recommendations to our hardware design engineering team.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and provide insights to support our business decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our hardware design engineering, supply chain, and contract manufacturers teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to our employees on component engineering processes, tools, and principles.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, experience with 3rd party component databases, and SAP experience.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong attention to detail.
