Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic/Millwright to join our team at Propak Energy Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing expert mechanical services and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced knowledge of gas compression packages and engine/compressor component life cycles to optimize equipment run times and ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Interpret complex flow sheets and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics.
  • Perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, and warranty work in remote locations, often independently.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems, and provide recommendations to Service Coordinators and clients.
  • Verify all proper settings and adjustments, including alignment, pull downs, rod run out, ESM, fuel gas pressure and settings, crankcase pressure, flange torquing, cooler checks, and more.
  • Judge priorities on unit repairs based on downtime, customer importance, potential losses, and efficient working methods.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mechanical services, labor time entry, expenses, parts orders, and other relevant information.
  • Complete and submit paperwork related to startups, servicing, warranty work, and other activities.
  • Provide guidance and direction to apprentice mechanics.
  • Order parts as necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
  • 5+ years' experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently in remote locations.
  • Strong administration, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience with new package commissioning is an asset.
  • Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Flexibility for 25% overnight travel.
