Job Summary
Propak Energy Services is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic/Millwright to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our gas compression packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of gas compression packages to optimize equipment run times and extend component life cycles.
- Interpret flow sheets and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems.
- Demonstrate expertise in mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics.
- Perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, and warranty work in remote locations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems and provide recommendations to the Service Coordinator and clients.
- Verify all proper settings and adjustments, including alignment, pull downs, rod run out, ESM, fuel gas pressure and settings, crankcase pressure, flange torquing, cooler checks, etc.
- Judge priorities on unit repairs based on downtime, customer importance, potential losses, and efficient working methods.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain documentation of mechanical services, labor time entry, expenses, parts orders, and other relevant information.
- Complete and submit paperwork related to startups, servicing, warranty work, etc.
- Provide direction to apprentice mechanics and order parts as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
- 5+ years' experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in remote locations without supervision.
- Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and flexibility for 25% overnight travel.
