Job Summary

The Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Risk Analytics Manager to support the Senior Manager of Consumer Portfolio Management and the Portfolio Management & Credit Strategy (PM&CS) team in managing portfolio health with a focus on Home Equity Financing (HEF) Products and identifying trends, developing insights and making recommendations on performance and loss forecast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use data to generate insights and support HEF portfolio analytics across the entire credit value chain and identify trends that support recommendations on acquisition, performance and loss forecast.
  • Deliver timely and accurate analytics by understanding business and regulatory reporting needs, establishing analytical frameworks, performing data mining activities, summarizing findings and communicating to stakeholders.
  • Integrate measures into existing reports, develop and execute routines to measure and monitor effectiveness of policy and process changes, and provide regular performance updates to stakeholders.
  • Support PM&CS initiatives, analytics, and ad-hoc requests as required, partner with teammates to design incisive and meaningful risk-monitoring measures, and have shared responsibility for building, validating, and automating new metrics and reports.
  • Assist with researching and enhancing automation methodologies, participate actively in the exchange of knowledge relating to products, data and analytical methodology, and manage daily workflow, resolve conflicting priorities and negotiate deliverables with minimum supervision.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Statistics or other quantitative field of study.
  • Significant experience with advanced SQL skills, strong Python/SAS or equivalent programming experience, expert in MS Excel and ability to create effective PowerPoint presentations, and effective and conversant in business and technical environment.
  • Proven analytical skills, good understanding of consumer behaviour and credit risk, collaborative and supportive attitude, creative thinker, and strong attention to detail.
