Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our infrastructure projects and ensure successful delivery and efficient operation of our clients' major capital projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project teams and consultants, ensuring best practice cost tracking and reporting, and implementing cost control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans, including cost breakdown structures and work breakdown structures
  • Manage project teams and consultants, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Implement cost control procedures, including value of work done and earned value methodologies
  • Develop accurate cost forecasts and assess contingency use and allocation
  • Define preventative or corrective actions to avoid cost overruns
  • Review large change orders and participate in contractor's cost management kick-off meetings
  • Conduct training programs to enable project adoption within the major projects

Requirements

  • Membership or eligibility for immediate membership as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with 10 years of experience on major infrastructure projects (values greater than $1B)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, with ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain respectful working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work under broad direction and use significant independent judgment to problem solve
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
  • Expert user in professional cost control systems, including implementation and integration with enterprise ERP systems
