Position Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of PUC Services Inc. This position reports directly to the Controller and is integral to our accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage general ledger activities, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Assist in treasury functions such as long-term financial planning, working capital analysis, cash management, and capital budgeting.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and support year-end audits.
  • Provide insights for the development of strategic plans and corporate objectives, reporting to senior management.
  • Analyze financial operations using accounting principles to assess past and present performance.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives and corporate goals.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Maintain and implement various financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency reporting requirements.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of financial information systems.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of a recognized CPA accounting program (CA/CMA/CGA) or enrollment in the final level of the program.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a relevant analytical capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards (IFRS, PSAB, etc.) and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS).
  • Practical experience with financial statements and general ledgers, including audit preparation.
  • Well-developed analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly in financial accounting software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications.
