We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Welder to join our team at John Ross & Sons Ltd., the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate semi-automatic welding equipment to weld metal segments using processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), pre-heating, tack welding, and flame cutting
  • Torch cutting
  • Welding, fabrication, and repair of various equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to proper manager
  • Maintain clean work environment

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Completion of college/technical training or a combination of training and experience
  • Safety Minded
  • 3+ years experience

Important Note:

Please note that there is no public transportation available to this location. Qualified applicants will be required to have their own reliable transportation to and from work.

Compensation and Schedule:

Rate of Pay: To be negotiated, depending on experience.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6:30am-5:30pm; Saturday 7am-12pm (can be discussed). Overtime as required.
