Reports to: Manager
Work Model: On-Site
Grade: D0:09
Employment Type: Casual
Compensation: $46.80 to $62.62 per hour, commensurate with experience and aligned with UHN compensation policies.
- Assess, validate, and dispense prescribed medication orders for suitability.
- Identify, address, and avert medication-related issues.
- Monitor drug therapies for efficacy, safety, and adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Follow up on medication incidents and advocate for safe medication practices.
- Provide responses to drug information inquiries.
- Oversee and guide pharmacy technician staff.
- Perform additional duties as required within the scope of the role.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree, or equivalent.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada.
- Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A).
- Certification in smoking cessation and flu vaccination administration.
- Familiarity with common medication regimens and dispensing processes.
- Experience in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of adherence programs and pharmacy billing processes.
- Experience with pharmacy inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Preferred experience in hospital outpatient pharmacy practice.
- Hospital pharmacy residency is an asset.
