About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our Global Communications Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing communications strategies that drive business results and enhance our reputation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Financial Communications
    • Develop and implement communications plans for quarterly earnings and annual reporting cycles, working closely with Investor Relations and Strategy leads to craft key messages and communications vehicles.
    • Monitor industry and market trends, competitor activities, and earnings releases to provide insightful recommendations and support Investor Relations on key message development tied to financial transactions.
  • Support Global Communications
    • Partner with the Corporate Secretary and Global Events team to develop relevant materials for the Annual Report and Annual General Meeting.
    • Support the Chief Financial Officer's communications program, including colleague engagement and external visibility initiatives, working in tandem with Global Communications practice areas.
  • Reputation Management
    • Monitor relevant reputation risks and opportunities with Communications team peers, contributing to Reputation Response preparedness and Reputation Outlook activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 10+ years relevant work experience gained in finance communications at a publicly traded company, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong executive speechwriting skills required.
    • Track record of success handling multiple projects and ability to tie results to strategic business objectives.
