As a Senior Accountant within our Assurance & Accounting division, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored financial solutions to our diverse clientele. Our team is dedicated to navigating the complexities of the ever-changing business and financial reporting environment, ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping, and tax engagements
  • Establish files for new clients and newly formed entities; manage multiple engagements concurrently and conduct inventory assessments
  • Facilitate accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll processes with clients
  • Summarize clients' financial positions by gathering data and preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other pertinent reports
  • Evaluate and ensure the adequacy of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses
  • Investigate and rectify discrepancies and irregularities in financial records, documents, and reports
  • Develop charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting
  • Draft correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations detailing engagement findings and highlights
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with clients while mentoring and guiding junior team members
  • Engage in business development activities and identify potential new business opportunities
  • Maintain the flexibility to travel as required

Required Skills and Experience

  • CPA designation or completion of the CFE
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in public accounting
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software applications
  • Strong grasp of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
