Join Our Efforts to Address Global Hunger

We are seeking a dedicated individual to participate in our Hunger on the Hill program, a unique opportunity to learn about global hunger and meet with MPs in person.

About the Program

This intergenerational event is designed for individuals interested in learning about global hunger and climate change, and in meeting with elected officials to advocate for change.

As a participant, you will have the chance to:

  • Learn about the importance of advocacy in addressing hunger and climate change
  • Connect with like-minded individuals and Foodgrains Bank staff
  • Meet face-to-face with MPs to discuss food security issues
  • Participate in small group discussions and debrief sessions
Requirements

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to The United Church of Canada
  • Be concerned and interested in climate change and the global food system
  • Be willing to speak to United Church groups about your experience and its impact
  • Be willing to participate in advocacy initiatives and community awareness building on food security issues
What to Expect

As a participant, you will:

  • Write a summary of your experience, including 5 hi-res pictures and/or social media presence during the event
  • Participate in speaking engagements to UCC communities of faith about your experience
  • Engage in ongoing advocacy initiatives with Church in Mission staff
