Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fleet Maintenance Superintendent to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of our vehicle maintenance programs. This role is critical in ensuring the operational readiness of our fleet, which is essential for meeting the demands of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the execution of the vehicle maintenance program across various facilities, ensuring optimal vehicle availability and adherence to established repair protocols.
- Lead and mentor the automotive maintenance team, providing guidance on daily operations, performance assessments, and personnel management.
- Analyze and report on key performance metrics related to maintenance activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices within the maintenance environment, conducting investigations into any incidents and recommending improvements.
- Diagnose technical issues with vehicle components, determining root causes and coordinating corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Manage the workload of the maintenance facility, balancing operational needs with budgetary constraints, and overseeing the inventory of parts and supplies.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a unionized environment or in a supervisory capacity within an automotive repair context.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards related to fleet vehicle operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess a valid permanent driver's license.
- Must have a satisfactory driving record as per company standards.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Mechanic license with interprovincial Red Seal endorsement is required.
- Experience with alternative fuel systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Previous experience as a service advisor or manager in a vehicle repair setting.
