Job Summary

The Officer, Dangerous Goods is a critical role at Canadian National Railway, responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of hazardous materials. This position requires a strong understanding of regulations and industry standards, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, customers, and industry partners to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  2. Provide training and outreach programs to response agencies and CN employees on emergency response procedures and hazardous materials handling.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure CN's compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert on hazardous materials regulations and industry standards.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in hazmat emergency response, with a strong background in hazardous materials regulations and industry standards. A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Fire Science, or a related field is preferred.

Competencies
  1. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  2. Strong understanding of hazardous materials regulations and industry standards.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Fluently bilingual in English and French.
