The Officer, Dangerous Goods is a critical role at Canadian National Railway, responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of hazardous materials. This position requires a strong understanding of regulations and industry standards, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, customers, and industry partners to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Provide training and outreach programs to response agencies and CN employees on emergency response procedures and hazardous materials handling.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure CN's compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on hazardous materials regulations and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in hazmat emergency response, with a strong background in hazardous materials regulations and industry standards. A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Fire Science, or a related field is preferred.
Competencies- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of hazardous materials regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluently bilingual in English and French.
