Position: IT Systems Engineer

Reporting to: Director of Information Technology

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Compensation: $70K - $80K Annually

What We Seek:

Proficient knowledge in configuring and maintaining system infrastructure, including:

  • Hyper-V Clusters, VMWare clusters
  • Windows Server 2003, 2016, 2019
  • SQL Server and Clustering
  • ESXi
  • OS and Active Directory security hardening following CIS benchmarks
  • Active Directory Services, DHCP, DNS, KMS, SharePoint, and IIS
  • Azure Active Directory
  • High availability and disaster recovery strategies
  • SCCM for deployment (preferred)
  • Orchestrator and SharePoint for automation (preferred)
  • Office 365, Exchange Online, Teams, Azure Cloud VM Management, Microsoft VDI services

Proficient knowledge in Storage, Backup, and Replication, including:

  • Nimble storage solutions
  • Synology and QNAP systems
  • Veeam

Familiarity with OSX operating systems and software, including:

  • Image capturing with Parallel MAC management
  • Image deployment from SCCM through site deployment point
  • Adobe Creative Cloud, Maya, AutoCAD, and other animation software (preferred)

Familiarity with Linux systems, including:

  • Apache
  • MySQL
  • Ubuntu

Familiarity with monitoring and security tools, including:

  • SolarWinds
  • Cortex XDR (preferred)
  • ManageEngine AD Audit

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 6 years of system administration experience in a corporate multi-platform, multi-vendor environment
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in the architecture, design, implementation, and management of Microsoft Hyper-V & VMWare Virtual Infrastructure technology
  • Strong understanding of Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and NAS storage technology along with networking requirements related to Hyper-V/VMWare and Nimble environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding and experience in the architecture, design, implementation, and management of Microsoft Windows operating systems and both on-premise and cloud-based application services, including Active Directory, SCCM, and System Center Orchestrator, SharePoint.
  • Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals, including secure infrastructure design, along with experience in security hardening practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of drafting purchase justifications, training users on complex topics, delivering presentations to internal audiences, and positively interacting with end users and management
  • High proficiency in PowerShell for managing IT infrastructure
  • Independent problem-solving skills and self-direction
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Capacity to liaise with various departments, members, and functional roles
  • Capability to provide technical support and general troubleshooting
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial and locally developed monitoring tools

  • Use of personal vehicle for local travel between campuses if necessary (preferred)
  • Occasional light lifting may be required
  • Occasional overtime may be necessary
