We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer III to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for implementing AI/ML algorithms for commercial biological or microscopy applications.
Key Responsibilities- Implement AI/ML algorithms for commercial biological or microscopy applications to tackle problems in instrument automation, computational imaging, image analysis, and data analysis.
- Develop and maintain software products using multiple programming languages, including C#, C++, and Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, biologists, and application specialists, to design and develop sophisticated applications.
- Design and implement software architecture for complex applications, including multi-threaded, quasi-real-time processing, and distributed computing.
- Develop and maintain algorithms to target different deployment architectures (GPU, CPU) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Research and prototype commercially viable solutions to satisfy customer requirements, applying prototyping tools such as MATLAB, R, and Python.
- Work with customer networks, key opinion leaders, and Voice-of-Customer (VOC) resources to validate solutions.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field required.
- Strong statistical, mathematical, and physics background to model sophisticated microscopy and biological systems.
- Proven track record of producing production-quality software products, including experience in software engineering principles, modern agile development processes, and software architecture.
- Authority in developing multi-threaded, quasi-real-time processing, distributed computing, and cloud-based software systems.
- Experience in developing algorithms to target different deployment architectures (GPU, CPU) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Supply novel ideas in applying AI/ML to address customer problems.
- Evaluate new technologies and read publications to consider how they can be applied to our applications.
- A competitive salary range of $95,900.00-$143,825.00 based in Washington.
- A variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results.
