Job Title: Spécialiste Support Logiciel

Alttechnical is seeking a highly skilled System Support Specialist to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to monitoring alerts and customer-initiated tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, escalating critical issues to designated support teams as needed.
  • Document and track problems to ensure timely resolution, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and attitude.
  • Provide reliable technical support, monitoring internal platforms using monitoring tools, and managing assigned schedules such as maintenance windows.
  • Stay up-to-date on operational activities by consistently accessing and reading NOC communications, including shift email, incident tickets, installation information, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all test environments and production servers are operational within specifications set forth by the owner department and/or service level agreement.
  • Follow documented procedures and guidelines related to monitoring systems and platforms, understanding how systems and platforms operate and interact.
  • Interface with users, other teams, and service providers to resolve problems, perform day-to-day operational tasks, and maintain equipment inventory records and infrastructure topology documentation.
  • Occasionally required to perform shift work and/or may be required for on-call coverage and/or after-hours support.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of networking equipment (configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance).
  • Knowledge of Windows systems.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, able to work under stressful conditions, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Good communication skills (English) and capacity to work in a team environment.
  • Considered an asset: ~1-2 years of related work experience, ~knowledge of Windows Server technologies, ~experience with database systems.
