Responsibilities:
  • Represent SMS Equipment with professionalism and integrity, conducting business transactions on behalf of the company.
  • Adhere to all established policies and procedures outlined by SMS Equipment.
  • Conduct thorough market research, set sales goals and objectives, and plan effective prospecting activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly reports detailing sales activities and progress.
  • Maintain an up-to-date client database, including contact information, equipment needs, and purchase history.
  • Consult with customers to understand their specific requirements, analyze their existing equipment, and recommend suitable solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Develop compelling business proposals and secure approval from the Operations Manager.
  • Provide customers with clear and concise information regarding product operation and functionality.
  • Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and build lasting relationships.
  • Submit timely reports on lost sales opportunities, identifying key factors contributing to unsuccessful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the credit department to facilitate prompt collection of outstanding payments.
  • Maintain strong communication channels with internal departments, including product support, to address customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in industrial sales, with a focus on the heavy equipment sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of various types of construction equipment and their applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with a general understanding of computer systems.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with customers and OEM representatives.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Valid Class 5/G Driver's License.
