ROLE SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as routine and on-demand services for designated mission-critical facilities. Given the inherent risks associated with these environments, strict adherence to established protocols and risk management practices is crucial to ensure operational reliability and meet uptime objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Critical Operations

  • Exhibits a strong sense of urgency regarding mission-critical operations, ensuring compliance with established processes and internal and external regulations, including environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and risk management.
  • Guarantees the effective application and execution of mission-critical processes and risk management practices to achieve or surpass facility uptime goals and mitigate potential risks.

Maintenance Duties

  • Conducts regular monitoring and inspection of facilities, equipment, and building systems, performing preventative and corrective maintenance to meet uptime objectives and ensure uninterrupted client operations.
  • Implements preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical building distribution systems.
  • Enhances tenant and customer satisfaction while maintaining positive relationships through professional service delivery.

Training and Administrative Support

  • Mentors, coaches, and trains junior team members.
  • Participates in training sessions, safety meetings, operational meetings, and toolbox talks.
  • Maintains all assigned tools and coordinates repairs and replacements as necessary.

Work Orders and Documentation

  • Maintains accurate work order records within the service management maintenance database.

Program and Project Support

  • Assists in implementing the preventative maintenance program.
  • Coordinates and engages in facility-related projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work shifts, be on-call, and respond to emergencies.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to travel to and perform work at multiple sites.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Over 5 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance, with at least 4 years in critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • High school diploma plus relevant trades training, certification, or licenses.
  • Proven ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Advanced understanding of the risks associated with mission-critical facilities.
  • Strong client-service orientation and a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.

Licenses and Professional Accreditation

Trade certification/licensing in one or more of the following is required:

  • Journeyman level Refrigeration license.
  • Journeyman level Electrical license.
  • Stationary Engineer Class 1 or Class 2.

Additionally:

  • Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
