About the Role

Groupe SII is seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to join our Data Engineering and Bioinformatics Systems Development team. As a senior Python software engineer, you will be responsible for leveraging AWS services to develop large-scale scalable computations and enhance our current infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborative Software Engineering: Work with cross-functional teams to address complex software engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Cloud Architecture: Design and implement cloud-based systems using AWS services, focusing on serverless paradigms and event-driven architecture.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Terraform and Python to enable various AWS services and deploy high-performing software in cloud environments.
  • Software Development: Develop multiple software applications in a production environment, leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, Step functions, SQS & SNS.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate complex problems to peers, users, and leadership, and collaborate with offshore engineering teams to assist in software development endeavors.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience in developing tools in Python for High-Performance Computing and cloud solutions, with a strong background in AWS services and serverless architecture.
  • Skills: Proficiency in event-driven architecture, serverless architecture, and infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform and Python. Familiarity with technologies such as EKS, ECS, S3, SQS, SNS, ALB, and GitLab CI.
  • Soft Skills: Self-motivated, passionate about programming and tool development, with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt swiftly to new domains.
