Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Barrie. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hotel, ensuring seamless execution of our business strategies and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to implement organizational policies and programs, ensuring efficient use of materials, human resources, and financial resources.
  • Department Establishment: Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Co-ordination and Communication: Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Policy Formulation: Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
  • Representation: Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions.
  • Staff Selection and Development: Select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff, delegate necessary authority, and create optimum working conditions.
  • Financial and Administrative Controls: Establish financial and administrative controls, formulate and approve promotional campaigns, and approve overall human resources planning.
Work Environment and Requirements:
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Team Player: Demonstrate excellent oral communication skills, be organized, and work effectively as a team player.
  • Workload: Manage a large workload, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
