The Financial Services division is dedicated to being a reliable, customer-centric team that champions financial responsibility while embracing and promoting transformation. Comprising nearly 40 financial experts and supporting a large organization, Financial Services prides itself on advocating for governance and financial accountability, delivering actionable analysis, and ensuring excellence in service for patients and stakeholders.
Position Overview
The Senior Advisor will play a pivotal role in informing, guiding, and providing strategic recommendations. This position encompasses a broad scope with organization-wide integration and significant impact.
Key Stakeholders
The Senior Advisor will collaborate with the VP, Director, Manager, and Clinical Leaders within the assigned program, as well as peers in Financial Services and FP&A teams.
Responsibilities
The Senior Advisor will be tasked with:
- Planning, budgeting, and forecasting for their designated portfolio.
- Conducting monthly reviews of revenue and other recurring reports, including financial and productivity trends, for key stakeholders.
- Designing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and managing outcomes with program leadership.
- Leading strategic initiatives aimed at increasing demand and driving cost efficiencies, such as optimizing pricing strategies and standard costing.
- Performing ad-hoc analyses to support critical operational decisions within the program.
- Overseeing and enhancing workflows and processes by identifying inefficiencies and areas of risk.
- Collaborating with program leadership to establish a multi-year business plan.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A background in Financial Analysis, FP&A, and modeling.
- Experience in business development and business plan evaluation.
- Strong professional judgment and problem-solving skills to propose actionable recommendations on financial and operational matters.
- An understanding of data structures, analytics, and reporting tools such as PowerPivot and Tableau.
- The ability to navigate and collaborate with multiple key stakeholders, including program leadership and strategic partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to program leadership.
Work Schedule
Standard work hours are Monday to Friday during the day.
Qualifications
The Senior Advisor role requires:
- Education: At least one of the following: Professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA), applicable post-graduate degree (e.g., MBA, Masters of Finance), or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial reporting, including financial statements, audit support, reconciliations, and compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).
- Treasury and cash management, including accounts receivable and payable, and long-range planning.
- Capital planning, encompassing comprehensive planning, ROI, and prioritization frameworks.
- Investment portfolio management, focusing on strategy and risk management.
- Financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Specialized Skills: Over 5 years of experience in:
- Financial modeling.
- Financial visualization and graphical representation.
- Financial and operating systems.
Soft Skills: Over 5 years of experience in:
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both formal and informal.
- Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Informal leadership and coaching abilities.
