Are you looking for a challenging role in financial planning and budgeting? Valor Search is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Financial Planning and Budget Strategist to join their team. As a key member of the financial planning team, you will be responsible for driving the preparation of annual operating budgets, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. You will also strategize and manage budget impacts, offering guidance to senior leadership on enhancement strategies.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will lead and shape the financial future of the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

    Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to support key institutional initiatives. Develop compelling business cases for strategic initiatives, advising on budget forecasts and financial statements.
  2. Operational Excellence:

    Advise and guide budget managers on budget preparation and financial result interpretation. Recommend and implement quality and efficiency improvements in financial processes.
  3. Leadership and Team Management:

    Supervise and mentor a team of Financial Planning Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide leadership in financial analysis processes, ensuring effective teamwork and information sharing.
Requirements
  1. An Honours Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  2. CPA designation is required at the time of hire.
  3. Strong communication with the ability to deliver presentations to C-Suite and stakeholders.
  4. 5 years of relevant work experience with expertise in Public Sector Accounting Standards (highly desirable).
  5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  6. Demonstrated competence in financial modelling and strong analytical skills.
  7. Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Proven leadership and teamwork skills.
