Job Opportunity Overview

Aecon Utilities is seeking a skilled Yard Attendant to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering projects with a commitment to Faster.Smarter.Safer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and issue field staff equipment and stock needs, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Organize and manage record filing systems, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Conduct regular equipment and stock audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform full yard material inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Coordinate and manage testing and certification of tools and safety equipment.
  • Process returns of defective or damaged equipment in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report any health and safety issues, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Determine inventory load volumes and ensure supply always exceeds demand.
  • Review documentation for accuracy prior to submission.
  • Perform daily shipping and receiving duties as required.
  • Maintain basic housekeeping standards.
  • Drive an inclusive culture, promoting equity and fostering a sense of belonging among team members.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good technical skills using computer-based technologies and devices.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Lifting and filing experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours when required.
  • Valid Forklift Truck License or past experience operating loaders.
  • Champion of inclusion and diversity.
  • AZ or DZ license for deliveries considered an asset.
