At Universal Railway Operations, we are currently seeking a **Rail Yard Operator** to support our Fort Saskatchewan team at Heartland Sulphur LP.

This Operator works under the direction of the Shift Lead, is largely responsible for organizing and moving railcars safely and efficiently at our client’s sulphur forming and handling terminal. This position primarily will ensure unit trains are built in a timely manner for the service provider, railcars are moved from the receiving to the staging yard, as well as positioned for terminal crews to load them. Since this position requires the ability to provide direction and training to coworkers working in the railyard, the successful applicant must be a well-seasoned switch person. Additionally, this person will be responsible to occasionally load tank cars with liquid sulphur.

- Premiums for Power Engineering Tickets (#4 and #3)
- CROR/IROR qualified
- Extensive experience handling Railcar Movers or Locomotives
- Ability to work and get along with all co-workers
- Communicate effectively with people verbally and written
- Class 3 or 4 Power Engineering ticket is considered an asset but not required
- The ability to operate Heavy Equipment is considered an asset
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work equally well independently and in teams
- Physical capability to perform the job duties
