About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant 2 to join our team at the Animal and Plant Laboratory. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for preparing various agricultural samples for analysis while working within an ISO accredited quality management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare agricultural samples for analysis in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Perform laboratory functions to support the work of Agricultural Technicians
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Perform basic laboratory testing and routine monitoring of the laboratory environment
  • Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure high laboratory standards are achieved
Requirements:
  • 2 years' laboratory experience post high school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS), and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail
