Parking Regulation Compliance Officer - Edmonton

Parking Regulation Compliance Officers are engaged by the City of Edmonton to uphold parking laws on municipal roadways. Responsibilities include addressing violations such as expired parking permits, restricted parking areas, tow-away zones, and other stationary vehicle infractions. Officers are empowered to enforce these regulations upon successful completion of training and official appointment under the City of Edmonton bylaw.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (fewer than 3 demerits). Driving record must be provided during the screening process.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret written regulations, orders, and instructions in English, and to produce clear and legible reports.
- Exhibit strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of making prompt decisions in emergency situations with minimal oversight.
- Physically fit to walk over 30 kilometers daily or drive for extended periods.
- Proficient in drafting detailed reports and maintaining accurate records with clear handwriting.
- Ability to manage confidential information with a high degree of discretion.
- Must be eligible to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one of the following:
- Two years of post-secondary education, preferably in a related field or,
- One year of prior enforcement experience (including security roles) or,
- Three years of supervisory or management experience with a focus on customer service and conflict resolution or,
- Five years of customer service experience with an emphasis on conflict resolution.
Shifts: Days, Evenings & Weekends
A.M. Shift, P.M. Shift, Plus Special Events Shifts
Starting Wage: $20.00/hour, increasing to $21.00/hour after successful completion of training. Additional raises are based on tenure and performance.
