About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at ZA Electrical and General Contractor Ltd. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create structures and fixtures
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Supervise and lead other workers to achieve project goals
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the trade, or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly
  • Own transportation and tools, including safety equipment and gear
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a team environment
