Crown Prosecutor Job Description

As a Crown Prosecutor, you will play a vital role in upholding justice and promoting safe communities in Saskatchewan. This challenging and rewarding position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory prosecutions in the Provincial Court and Court of King's Bench
  • Conduct docket court work, trial work, and summary conviction appeals
  • Provide legal opinions, review police reports, and advise police as necessary
  • Participate in legal education and training in areas such as criminal law and ethics
Requirements:
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Effective case management and organization skills
  • Ability to meet short deadlines and work independently
  • Experience with computer software applications, including legal research tools and MS Office
