Position Overview
The Regional Sales Executive will oversee sales and community outreach efforts within the designated area of Manitoba in the emerging recreational cannabis sector. This dynamic sales role is ideal for a proactive individual who excels at cultivating customer relationships, employs a data-driven approach, and possesses the skills to engage and influence the local community. The position will report directly to the Provincial Sales Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Influence: Manage all client accounts within the assigned region, establishing Canopy Growth as the preferred partner for customers. Foster brand recognition and community involvement in the territory. Identify new opportunities to enhance brand visibility and sales volume. Develop new distribution channels and partnerships to optimize profitable market share and volume through effective distribution, visibility, and service. Implement marketing strategies to cultivate consumer loyalty and drive sales. Maintain up-to-date administrative records and information for the territory. Conduct industry and brand education sessions with key stakeholders.
- Performance Metrics: Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) related to volume, market share, in-store conditions, distribution, product placement, quality standards, and compliance with approved outlet plans and call frequency.
- Relationship Management: Build and sustain meaningful relationships that support the annual operational objectives. Develop connections with managers and staff at each retail location. Identify unique promotional opportunities for Canopy's brand portfolio while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Planning and Self-Management: Execute the annual territory plan and commitments. Effectively manage time by creating productive weekly and monthly schedules. Accurately track annual sales and consumer budgets. Manage a budget to drive volume and market share growth in line with brand strategy and merchandising guidelines. Monitor and control sales expenses within the designated budget. Generate new sales leads, event opportunities, and sponsorships. Implement all programs within established guidelines. Support community engagement, customer training, and sampling initiatives. Collaborate with the Provincial Sales Manager to plan sales activities and set goals for the assigned districts.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A strong curiosity about customer motivations and the ability to convert that curiosity into sales opportunities that benefit both Canopy and its customers.
- A proven history of meeting sales targets and in-store condition KPIs.
- Demonstrated success in enhancing brand awareness within a territory through innovative thinking.
- Prior experience as a Brand Manager is advantageous.
- A clean driving record.
- Technologically proficient, comfortable in a data-driven work environment.
- Experience in the Beverage Alcohol sector or related industries is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Account Management, Category Management, or Trade Marketing.
- A track record of working independently and remotely.
- Experience conducting interviews for local media is beneficial.
