Pediatric Neuropsychologist, Oncology Psychology

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Oncology Psychology program at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality psychological services to children with oncology diagnoses and treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for children with oncology diagnoses, including cognitive, educational, and social/emotional evaluations and psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medicine, nursing, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, child life, and spiritual care, to provide coordinated care to children and families.
- Provide consultation and liaison services to medical inpatient units and outpatient clinics, as well as individual and group treatment for children with cancer diagnoses.
- Supervise and provide evaluations for Psychology Residents and other trainees and students, and participate in training pre- and postdoctoral fellows as appropriate.
- Stay current with the scientific literature relevant to area(s) of practice and apply scientific evidence to clinical decision making.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current registration by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, or eligibility for registration.
- Training at the doctoral level in child clinical and/or developmental psychology, pediatric neuropsychology, or a closely related area.
- Recent related experience in women's and/or children, adolescent, psychodiagnostic, clinical and/or health care environment.
- Ability to communicate and present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to carry out duties in a timely fashion.
- Ability to establish priorities, develop/implement short-term and long-term objectives.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to teach and provide instruction.
- Proficiency in computer skills related to report writing and to recording and managing data.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
