About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer to join our team at Shape Industries Inc. as a Technical Illustrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed engineering designs and drawings, as well as preparing construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting
    • Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
    • Develop and prepare design sketches and presentation drawings.
  • Estimation and Documentation
    • Estimate costs and materials for construction projects.
    • Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.
    • Complete documentation packages and drawing sets.
  • Quality Control
    • Examine drawings for conformity and errors.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Other trades certificate or diploma.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • SOLIDWORKS Certification.
  • Computer and Technology Skills
    • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
    • Knowledge of image editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop.
    • Experience with database software and mail server software.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Organized and able to work under pressure.
    • Ability to distinguish between colors.
