Access Coordination Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Access Coordination & Assessment Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the execution and continuous management of the Access Coordination and Assessment initiative within the designated region or area. This position involves providing collaborative leadership to various community partners and stakeholders, focusing on the housing of individuals who are homeless or facing chronic homelessness, as well as those with multiple barriers, ensuring appropriate placements along the housing continuum. The individual in this role serves as a key resource for all partners engaged in delivering services and housing to vulnerable populations across multiple communities, with an emphasis on supportive housing programs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Community Planning, or a related field, including university-level coursework in social service delivery, business development, and community relations. Significant experience at the community level in fostering relationships and providing leadership to partners and stakeholders in housing solutions for the homeless or other diverse populations with complex social, health care, and/or behavioral challenges. Extensive experience in spearheading the implementation of housing-related programs, identifying training needs, and overseeing regional and stakeholder resources that support program operations. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that meets the Employer's standards.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of various mental health and/or addiction housing models. Comprehensive understanding of BC Housing's programs and services related to homelessness. Awareness of current social issues, including homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, child protection, and aging. Familiarity with Housing First principles. Insight into government and non-profit agencies within the communities served, as well as the role of community health resources and other social services. Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and consensus-building abilities. Effective planning, organizational, and time management skills. Proficient leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Capability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with housing providers, service providers, sector organizations, community groups, and government agencies, while leading the resolution of issues. Ability to learn and provide training on relevant assessment tools and program policies. Competence in presenting program information, delivering training, and offering consultation services and crisis intervention. Capacity to independently plan, organize, and adapt to a dynamic workload. Skill in leading, coaching, and motivating staff within a team environment. Proficiency in using computer applications and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings. A valid BC Driver's License is required.
