Job Summary:

The Field Placement Advisor is a key member of the Faculty of Social and Community Services team at Humber College. This role is responsible for connecting students with field experience opportunities, liaising with host supervisors, seminar instructors, and faculty advisors, and managing a database of field experience-related information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with host supervisors, seminar instructors, and faculty advisors to secure field experience opportunities for students.
  • Manage a database of field experience-related information, including host site details, student placements, and evaluation data.
  • Provide administrative support for Work-Integrated Learning initiatives, including coordinating logistics, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Work Integrated Learning, to develop and implement strategies to enhance the field placement experience for students.
  • Uphold the FSCS values of compassion, integrity, respect, self-awareness, and inclusion in all interactions with students, external and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • Exceptional administrative, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise good judgment, work with significant interruptions, and effectively resolve conflicts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Human Service fields such as Social Service, Community Development, Addictions and Mental Health, Behavioural Science, Community Justice, or job development experience.
