Position Overview:
McMaster University's Department of Athletics and Recreation is looking for a part-time Multimedia Production Specialist. Reporting to the Communications & Media Specialist and/or the Sports Information Officer, the selected individual will play a crucial role in the development and execution of digital media content for the Athletics & Recreation programs, with a primary focus on video production. The ideal candidate will be tasked with crafting visually engaging and impactful videos to showcase our varsity sports teams and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with various stakeholders to coordinate and implement creative content requirements (including photoshoots, filming, etc.). Assist in the production and editing of multimedia content for promotional activities, including but not limited to: Interviews, features, social media clips, sports photography, highlights from competitions, headshots, and promotional videos. Organize and categorize captured media assets using departmental management systems. Work collaboratively to maintain a comprehensive content calendar to ensure timely production of digital elements, aligning with the department's strategic objectives.Develop and uphold schedules for event coverage to facilitate content creation.
Execute select graphic design projects from concept to completion. Support sponsorship initiatives with a focus on graphics, video, and digital content. Assist in managing departmental social media accounts across various platforms.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 months of experience in professional photography and/or videography, along with demonstrated expertise in video/photo editing software (Adobe Creative Suite). Availability to work evenings and weekends. Proficient understanding of professional photography equipment. Ability to meet editing deadlines using video editing software within the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects). An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Previous experience in a post-secondary sports context is regarded as an asset.
