Role Summary

We are seeking a Specialist to enhance our expanding Commercial Group Solutions division. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the strategic development of product initiatives aimed at achieving growth objectives.
  • Establish guidelines and manage the referral process to optimize performance and underwriting practices.
  • Collect market insights by engaging with distribution channels, brokers, and clients, and assess our offerings against competitors.
  • Investigate technology-driven solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk evaluation, and loss prevention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new avenues for growth and profitability through research and relationship management.
  • Support portfolio management by implementing governance best practices and conducting profitability analyses.
  • Conduct technical audits of underwriting processes.
  • Communicate updates regarding underwriting guidelines and new product offerings.
  • Provide training in underwriting practices to colleagues and distribution partners.
  • Manage assigned accounts, making decisions to accept, reject, endorse, renew, or cancel policies in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to foster strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Update stakeholders on changes related to product pricing and underwriting protocols.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication abilities, capable of influencing and challenging perspectives.
  • Proficient in engaging effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively with national teams.
  • Solid analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively under tight deadlines.
  • High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Understanding of digital and data concepts and their application in enhancing customer and underwriter experiences.
  • CIP designation is required; FCIP and/or CRM designations are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • No prior Canadian work experience is necessary, but eligibility to work in Canada is required.
