About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at VDG Construction Inc. as a Construction Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of construction and installation of various building materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Layout and Installation: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools, and install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Site Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, supervise other workers, and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures.
  • Tool and Equipment Management: Maintain and ensure the proper use of tools and safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles.
Work Environment

This role requires working at heights, in noisy and dusty environments, and handling heavy loads. You must be physically demanding and able to work in a fast-paced construction setting.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English is the primary language used in this role.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
