About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Sushi Makira. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of sushi dishes, including sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese cuisine specialties.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize the kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Supply Chain Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and time management skills.
