Data Analyst, Data Lineage Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst, Data Lineage Specialist to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Data Shared Services team, you will be responsible for documenting the entire data lineage lifecycle, from the original source of the data to its point of consumption in reports.
Key Responsibilities- Document the lineage of data from its originating source to its point of consumption in reports, including any associated data transformations.
- Collaborate with other Data Management Offices, Data Custodians, and Data Stewards to understand data lineage reporting standards and best practices.
- Leverage data lineage artifacts captured by other Data Management Offices and share artifacts captured by Risk Data Management Office to avoid duplication of effort.
- Identify and communicate options to optimize the process of data lineage capture and documentation.
- Develop knowledge and become a valuable team resource, supporting the development of Data Lineage in general.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data management, data lineage capture, data analysis, or any other related data programs.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent in Finance, Data Analysis, or other related programs.
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Datameer, SQL.
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and compliance.
- Experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technology staff at different levels of seniority.
- Graduate/post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy or Process/Productivity Improvements.
