About GHD's Indigenous Internship Program

GHD is committed to supporting the development of Indigenous communities through our Indigenous Internship Program. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Indigenous Intern to join our team and contribute to our environmental consulting projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with client and contractor communications, including preparation and delivery of presentations and meeting records.
  • Meet with Indigenous community representatives to determine local needs and objectives, including preliminary site visits.
  • Conduct research for projects and prepare documents, including Indigenous Services Canada funding applications, project progress and completion reports, and project memorandums.
  • Provide support for project administration tasks and participate in design meetings and project team meetings.

Requirements

  • Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates (First Nations status or non-status, Metis, and Inuit).
  • Post-secondary education (currently enrolled or recent graduation, or an equivalent combination of education and work/life experience).
  • Demonstrate an interest in science, engineering, and/or the environment through work, education, and/or volunteer experience.
  • Positive attitude and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license.

About the Role

This is a paid internship position that offers a diverse and inclusive work environment, with meaningful and welcoming mentorship opportunities for our interns. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our Design and Project Management groups on First Nation Solid Waste Management, Environmental Remediation, Water Management, Renewable Energy, and Emergency Response Planning projects.
