About the Role

Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a talented Animator to join our team. As an Animator, you will be responsible for creating animated characters and objects that meet required direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize traditional methods and computer graphics systems to create desired performance of digital characters within a shot.
  • Emphasize conveying emotion through a combination of body language and facial expressions/dialog as required by each specific project.
  • Meet schedules and show deadlines, participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
  • Interact with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • Possess a strong understanding of the principles of animation.
  • Knowledge of applicable software packages, including Maya, required.
  • Background or experience in fine art, which shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form highly desired.
  • Knowledge of human and animal anatomy, as well as life drawing skills, desirable.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $26.44 to $36.32/hr for an Associate position and $32.02 to $43.99/hr for an Intermediate position. Benefits include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
