We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Design Professional to join our team at Maple Contractors Ltd. as a Building Design Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing buildings, developing plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs, and construction schedules.
Key Responsibilities- Develop building plans and detailed drawings to be used by contractors and tradespersons.
- Prepare documents showing both the structural needs and the materials required for construction.
- Project management, including conceptualizing and designing buildings, and developing plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs, and construction schedules.
- Urban planning, including preparing sketches and models, and performing architectural research.
- Conduct feasibility studies of building projects, including financial analyses.
- Supervision of technologists, technicians, and other architects.
- Estimate costs, including proposal preparation.
- Write plans describing project specifications and construction schedules.
- Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Membership in the Provincial Association of Architects.
- Membership in l'Ordre des architectes du Québec.
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification offered by the Canada Green Building Council.
- Proficiency in architectural software programs, including ARCHICAD, Autodesk 3ds Max, and AutoCAD.
- Strong data manipulation and analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
This is a full-time position that requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The work environment is fast-paced, with tight deadlines and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
