About the Opportunity

Aecon Concessions is seeking a seasoned Planning/Scheduling Lead to join our Urban Transportation Solutions team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring compliance with Aecon's Project Controls standards and applicable contract documents.
  • Forecast resource requirements, including labor, materials, and equipment, to support project planning and execution.
  • Establish productivity benchmarks to inform estimates and project planning.
  • Prepare progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain Earned Value Management plans to measure project performance and identify variances.
  • Manage schedule change notices and forecast project impact, implementing corrective action as needed.
  • Perform audits on project schedules, including those produced by subcontractors, and prepare required output documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain, add, or modify schedule data and plans.
  • Oversee and support schedule 5D integration with 3D models and cost reporting.
  • Provide commercial and technical expertise to support proposal development and contractually defined project control requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to contract conditions regarding Project Controls requirements, project set-up, monitoring, and close-out.
  • Identify commercial/schedule risks and develop mitigation measures to ensure timely and high-quality planning and scheduling-related deliverables.
  • Understand Monte Carlo risk analysis processes and contribute to Risk Mitigation Plans.
  • Lead and develop project controls personnel, fostering an inclusive culture and promoting equity, diversity, and belonging.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of scheduling/planning experience, preferably in heavy civil or LRT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management principles.
  • Proven ability to lead project planning and scheduling staff.
  • Expert-level knowledge of project planning and scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and TILOS.
  • SAP, Hard Dollar, PowerBI, and Synchro knowledge is an asset.
  • Champion of inclusion and diversity.
