Fasken SLP is a leading law firm with a strong commitment to promoting diversity and fostering an inclusive work environment. The Chief Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer will play a critical role in supporting the re-imagining of our Firm's EDI committees, developing and implementing EDI programs, processes, and communications, and reviewing policies, programs, and processes to remove barriers and systemic discrimination. This role will also involve developing, advising on, and participating in ongoing training and education programs to promote a culture of inclusion and equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EDI strategies and initiatives to promote a culture of inclusion and equity within the Firm.
  • Support the re-imagining of the Firm's EDI committees and develop plans to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement EDI programs, processes, and communications to promote a culture of inclusion and equity.
  • Review policies, programs, and processes to identify and remove barriers and systemic discrimination.
  • Develop and deliver training and education programs to promote a culture of inclusion and equity.
  • Collaborate with the Chief People Officer and Firm Leadership to integrate the EDI strategy into the firm-wide talent strategy.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 15 years of professional experience in leading and implementing EDI programs.
  • Strong organizational development and talent management skills, including change management, team dynamics, leadership development, and coaching.
  • A high level of cultural competence and cultural agility.
  • Excellent public speaking ability and strong written and presentation skills.
  • Strong business insight and understanding of key global trends and legal environment.
  • Demonstrated political and operational agility.
  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in the area(s) of human rights, equity, diversity, social justice, or social work.
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English is preferred and a definite asset.
  • A Master's, MBA, or JD would significantly enhance qualifications.
