Logistics Operations Supervisor Job Overview:

  • Ensure adherence to corporate and local health and safety regulations, environmental standards, quality policies, and established operating procedures (SOP).
  • Recruit, train, manage, develop, assess, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Facilitate team meetings at the start of shifts and on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities related to truck loading and unloading, crate reception, pallet preparation, and customer deliveries, along with inventory management.
  • Evaluate operational performance using key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and suggest actionable solutions to meet objectives.
  • Implement workplace health and safety initiatives to maintain a healthy, efficient, and secure work environment for all personnel.
  • Coordinate transportation and storage capabilities in alignment with current and anticipated demands.
  • Apply sustainable and appropriate VPO tools and standards (corporate management policies) and ensure compliance within the team.
  • Manage and supervise all warehouse operations while supporting activities across other departments.
  • Guarantee exceptional customer service from the logistics team to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure precise management of material and finished product inventories, adhering to month-end accounting standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and implement 5S practices in storage areas.
  • Encourage team cohesion and commitment, fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in both French and English, in both verbal and written forms.
  • Basic understanding of budgetary principles.
  • Strong computer skills (Office Suite, logistics management systems).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capability to extract, analyze, and utilize data to enhance relevant systems and processes.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Proficient in managing priorities and adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn - exhibit analytical thinking daily and engage in team problem-solving.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory role with resource coordination is beneficial.
  • Relevant experience in managing personnel in a unionized setting is a plus.
