Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Painter's Helper to join our team at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our buildings and furniture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply coatings to surfaces using brush, roller, and spray techniques to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Mix and match colors to create unique and desired hues.
  • Set up scaffolding to ensure safe access to work areas.
  • Perform surface preparation on new and existing surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Operate hand tools, power equipment, and precision-built machinery with precision and care.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in painting and finishing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License.
Working Conditions

This is a unionized, permanent, salaried support staff position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. The successful candidate will have access to a range of benefits through Alberta Blue Cross and will be eligible to participate in our defined benefit pension plan.
