Job Title: Mortgage Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at First National. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating mortgage applications to ensure they meet our company's lending criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze mortgage applications to determine creditworthiness
  • Evaluate credit reports and other relevant documentation
  • Make informed decisions on loan approvals and denials
  • Communicate with borrowers and other stakeholders to provide updates and explanations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in lending regulations
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. finance, business, economics)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage underwriting or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
