Job Title: Labor Relations Officer

SEIU Healthcare is a union of over 60,000 members who are frontline healthcare workers in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and homecare agencies in communities throughout Ontario.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Labor Relations Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering collective agreements, negotiating contracts, and resolving grievances. They will also identify and coach member leaders to become more active and capable members of the union.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer collective agreements and negotiate contracts
  • Resolve grievances and interpret contract language
  • Identify and coach member leaders to become more active and capable members of the union
  • Support member education and mobilization programs
  • Facilitate General Membership Meetings, Steward Meetings, Labour Management Meetings, Site Visits, and Departmental Meetings
  • Lead collective bargaining for assigned units
  • Analyze and interpret complex contract and legislative language
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in languages other than English is an asset
  • IT skills is an asset
  • Ability to interpret collective agreement language and apply to specific situations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and UnionWare
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent writing, and verbal skills
