Project Coordinator

As a key member of our team at Premier Project Consultants Ltd., the Project Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing the coordination and implementation of various project activities from start to finish. This includes ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements, such as building permit applications and subcontractor invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates.
- Prepare estimates of the cost of materials, labor, and equipment for a construction project.
- Perform quantity take-offs, update material price lists, order materials and equipment, and organize manpower.
- Establish and maintain the tendering process.
- Have knowledge of modern building construction methods and materials, as well as the preparation of specifications.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Understand residential high-rise construction practices and techniques.
- Interpret architectural, structural, and topographic drawings.
- Maintain files of working documents to substantiate the estimate.
- Review the daily progress of the project and ensure it is financially on track and on schedule.
- Assist with subcontract negotiations and awards under the direction of the project manager by creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in construction or engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in project coordination in the construction industry.
- Experience with high-rise residential is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and the divisions of construction.
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.
- Working knowledge of JONAS software and proficiency in other required software such as Procore and Microsoft Office.
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD for estimating and design/drafting.
- Means of transportation for site visits.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
