Job Overview

As a Finance Associate at MUFG Investor Services, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive sets of financial records, prepare journal entries, and ensure accurate posting of transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies.
  • Accounting Software Utilization: Employ advanced accounting software daily to execute various accounting tasks efficiently.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, prepare working papers, and review trial balances to support the preparation of financial statements.
  • Payment Processing: Oversee the preparation of payments and verify supporting documentation, ensuring all approvals are in place.
  • Accounts Payable Management: Ensure timely processing of accounts payable, including utilities, taxes, and employee expense claims.
  • Client Invoicing: Ensure the accurate and timely creation of client invoices and credit memos, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Client Data Maintenance: Maintain and review client agreements and data within the system.
  • Cash Receipts Processing: Process daily bank cash receipts and allocate them to invoices in the sales ledger.
  • Revenue Reporting: Provide detailed variance analysis on monthly revenue reports and prepare Accounts Receivable Aging reports for management review.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with the Client Operations team regarding billing queries and aged receivables.
  • Tax Support: Assist in providing documentation for tax specialists and prepare HST returns as needed.
  • Internal Controls: Follow internal control procedures diligently and maintain an audit trail with supporting documentation.
  • Audit Assistance: Support requests related to internal and external audits.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned and assist in managing the central mailbox within the team.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting-related position.
  • Proficient in maintaining complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment and tight deadlines.
