About the Role
Verathon is seeking a seasoned Product Development Lead to join our Visualization R&D team in Burnaby, British Columbia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing new product development (NPD) programs from concept to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage program execution and deliverables, ensuring scope, schedule, and costs are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define program scope, development budget, and determine timelines.
- Establish and manage master program schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate operational expenses, capital expenditures, and prototyping costs.
- Identify and mitigate program risks, ensuring successful program execution.
- Develop and implement new technologies to advance medical device designs, leveraging appropriate materials and processes.
- Participate in business development activities, including supplier agreements, cost reduction initiatives, and NPD roadmap planning.
- Apply knowledge of program management tools and methodologies, including Agile, Visual and Daily management, Core teams, Risk management, and V&V models.
- Continuously improve product development processes for NPD programs.
- Regularly interact with Executive Leadership Team, vendors, and contract manufacturers regarding program status, issues, and coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technical field of study; Master's or advanced engineering degree preferred; PMP certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience leading technical product development using an NPD process.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate and influence multi-disciplinary teams and personnel.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Technical expertise in imaging, handheld or mobile devices, or electro-mechanical products preferred.
- Product development experience with medical devices specific to diagnostic imaging preferred.
- Travel up to 15% of the time is required.
Compensation
Salary range: $88,697 - $138,119 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience, and location).
